The Walt Disney Company announced that Disney+ Hotstar will launch in Thailand on 30 June 2021, giving viewers a new way of experiencing the well-loved content from Disney’s most iconic entertainment brands including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic, as well as Asian and Thai stories, and a wide array of general entertainment series and films for young adults.
Consumers can subscribe directly from the Disney+ Hotstar website or app at THB799 for one year. Special packages will also be available with AIS 5G, an official distributor of Disney+ Hotstar.
This was unveiled today at a special Media Day, hosted by June Sawitri and featuring popular Thai celebrities, Aff Taksaorn Paksukcharern, Boy Pakorn Chatborirak, Tik Jesdaporn Pholdee, and Mario Maurer, who helped introduce the extensive content available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
From 30 June, subscribers will have exclusive access to Disney+ Originals like Marvel Studios’ WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and Loki, The Mandalorian, Luca, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, The Mysterious Benedict Society, folklore: the long pond studio sessions and Hamilton, amongst others.
This is in addition to the latest blockbuster releases and library content, featuring Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther and Captain America: Civil War; Disney’s live action adaptations - Mulan, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, The Lion King, Aladdin, Dumbo and Beauty and the Beast; animation favourites - Disney’s Frozen 1 and 2, Raya and the Last Dragon, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Big Hero 6, Zootopia, Winnie the Pooh and The Jungle Book; as well as Disney and Pixar’s Soul, Toy Story 4, Coco, The Incredibles 2, Inside Out and Finding Dory.
There will also be a robust catalogue of general entertainment films and series including Ford v Ferrari, Terminator: Dark Fate, the Maze Runner franchise, Jojo Rabbit, The Walking Dead, Homeland, Criminal Minds, Modern Family, Fresh Off The Boat, The Simpsons, Grey’s Anatomy, 9-1-1 and many more.
Disney+ Hotstar has also signed agreements with local studios in Thailand, including GDH 559, Sahamongkolfilm, Kantana Group and One 31. This means that Disney+ Hotstar will be the home to exclusive shows, such as God Bless The Trainees Too!, Extraordinary Siamese Story: Eng and Chang as well as local box office toppers Pee Mak, Friend Zone, Brother Of The Year, Laddaland and Tom Yum Goong. Drama aficionados will also be one of the first to catch upcoming titles such as Love and Fortune (starring Panward Hemmanee, Pathompong Reonchaidee, Sireethorn Leearamwat and Thitipoom Techaapaikhun) and My Lucky Star (starring Thanapat Kawila and Anchasa Mongkhonsamai), with a same time telecast on primetime TV.
Fans of Asian content will also have plenty to look forward to with 2021 South Korean science fiction action film Seobok (starring Gong Yoo and Park Bo Gum), highly acclaimed Taiwanese drama film The Silent Forest (starring Buffy Chen and Hyun-Bin Kim), and popular Chinese series The Deer and the Cauldron. Also streaming on the service are Oscar Winner for Best Picture Parasite and martial arts film Ip Man 4: The Finale, as well as Japanese films and series like Shin Godzilla, Let Me Eat Your Pancreas and 24 Japan.

Subscribers will be able to stream Disney+ Hotstar on a wide selection of compatible mobile and connected TV devices at launch, including streaming media players. Each registered account can support two concurrent streams, and most of the content is available for download on mobile and tablet. All content is commercial-free, with a dedicated kids section with age-appropriate content and a kid-friendly, easy-to-navigate user interface.
