Experience the Grandest Journey in Asia with
“SPACE JOURNEY BANGKOK” — A World-Class Space Exhibition Join together for an inspiring adventure from 16th December 2024 to 16th April 2025, at BITEC BURI.
Index Creative teams up with Bhiraj Buri Group to open a vast educational odyssey and inspire Thai youth and space enthusiasts alike. This groundbreaking event brings a world class space exhibition to Thailand for the first time in Asia under the name “SPACE JOURNEY BANGKOK.” Discover 10 exhibition rooms covering the past, present, and future of space exploration, alongside over 600 real and model space artifacts from the USA and the Soviet Union. The event will be held from 16th December 2024 to 16th April 2025, at Event Space 98, BITEC BURI (Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre).
Mr. Kriengkarn Kanjanapokin, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Index Creative Village Public Company Limited, a leading creative marketing company in ASEAN, announced that Index Creative, in collaboration with Bhiraj Buri Group, will organize “SPACE JOURNEY BANGKOK,” a world-class space exhibition. The event has also garnered cooperation from both public and private sector organizations to expand perspectives and inspire the development of Thailand’s space technology in the future. Notable contributors include Dr. Pakorn Apaphant, Executive Director of GISTDA, Dr. Saran Poshyachinda, Executive Director of NARIT, and Mr. Kornthong Wiriyasawetkul, space enthusiast.
Previously known as the "Cosmos Discovery Space Exhibition," this global phenomenon has captivated audiences in 5 European countries, welcoming over 1 million visitors. SPACE JOURNEY BANGKOK aspires to replicate this success in Thailand, targeting 200,000 visitors over its 4-month duration.
“Space technology and innovations have consistently impacted our daily lives. Having visited similar exhibitions abroad, I’ve been inspired by humanity’s extraordinary efforts to explore beyond Earth. It's beyond imagination and limits. This sparked the desire to bring this experience to Thailand, marking the first time such an exhibition was held in Asia. Our mission is to unlock a world of learning, especially for youth, students, and university attendees, to ignite their curiosity and inspire their space ambitions, which could lead to the future development of Thailand’s space technology,” said Mr. Kriengkarn.
Mr. Pitiphatr Buri, Chief Executive Officer of Bhiraj Buri Group, a company renowned for developing quality commercial real estate projects such as BITEC BURI, shared his perspective: “Learning extends far beyond the classroom, textbooks, or online research. Experiencing something tangible offers a powerful form of education. From my visits to museums in various countries, I’ve observed that successful museums are modern, accessible, and capable of
reflecting changes from the past to the present. SPACE JOURNEY BANGKOK fulfills this goal."
Given the substantial investment involved in bringing SPACE JOURNEY BANGKOK to Thailand, including licensing, equipment imports, and securing a dedicated exhibition space of 2,000 square meters, we want to offer this unique opportunity to Thai people and our ASEAN neighbors. The exhibition will run for 4 months, which we believe is an appropriate time frame to allow everyone to plan their visit."
In collaboration with Index Creative Village, we’ve worked on several projects together. I’ve seen the dedication and capabilities of the Index Creative Village team in organizing global events. That’s why I trust this partnership will deliver an exceptional experience for the Thai public moving forward.
BITEC BURI has hosted over 400 events, attracting an estimated 7 million visitors in 2024. We continue to develop our entertainment business, including Sport Service Entertainment at BEAT Active and BITEC Live, which supports concert events. Our core customer groups include People & Business, Active Lifestyle, Family, and Group of Friends. We also place importance on organizing educational events, with 8 upcoming shows for children and students. BITEC Buri sees the potential in the B2C market, and we believe that the diverse range of activities paves the way for efficient business expansion and meet market demands in the future."
The SPACE JOURNEY BANGKOK event emphasizes educational opportunities. While many Thai people might view space as a distant realm, Thailand has demonstrated remarkable potential in various sectors. For example, Thai cuisine has been chosen as astronaut food due to its international standards, and Thailand's microchip and satellite technologies are impressive. Moreover, Thai scientists collaborate with world-class organizations like NASA. These developments highlight that space exploration is not as far off for Thailand as one might think.
“This exhibition gives everyone a chance to experience and learn about space up close, featuring authentic artifacts and models from space exploration missions around the world. We hope this exhibition will inspire everyone to appreciate the importance of science and technology, ultimately contributing to the future development of our country,” concluded Mr. Pitiphatr.
Inside the exhibition, visitors will find rooms showcasing the history of space exploration, past, present, and future. Over 600 rare artifacts and replicas from the US, the Soviet Union, and other countries will be displayed in 10 exhibition rooms. Highlights include immersive space room, space cinema, Cosmos Camp for astronaut training, VR driving experiences, and a gyroscope machine.
Key highlights include:
● Original component of Saturn V. rocket F1 engine, recovered from the bottom from the Atlantic Ocean by Jeff Besos, owner of Amazon, which remains in excellent condition despite exposure to extreme temperatures.
● Original Houston Mission Control Center consoles, used to communicate with Apollo astronauts, with hand-calculated flight paths.
