Lenovo strengthens regional leadership team with appointment of new General Manager for Indochina

Bangkok, Thailand - MONDAY JULY 4, 2017 – Lenovo, the world’s leading PC manufacturer, today announced the appointment of industry veteran, Mr. Thaneth Angkasirisan, as General Manager, Indochina, to head up the company’s day-to-day operations in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar.

Based in Bangkok, Mr. Angkasirisan will be responsible for managing and growing Lenovo’s PC and smart devices business across both the consumer and commercial segments in one of the world’s most economically dynamic regions. His role will also include strengthening the company’s relationships with its key enterprise and SME clients, as well as major channel partners.

Mr. Angkasirisan brings to the role 25 years of experience in sales, marketing and strategic planning in corporate, public sector and consumer IT, including over seven years in senior management. He has a successful track record of leading businesses and meeting aggressive revenue targets for major multinational companies based in Thailand.

“We are pleased to welcome a leader of Thaneth’s calibre to Lenovo,” said Mr. Ivan Cheung, Executive Director and Regional General Manager, Lenovo Central Asia Pacific. “This is an exciting time for our business in Indochina, home to four of the world’s top 10 fastest growing economies per capita last year and a key driver of our overall growth. I have every confidence that Thaneth will enable us to build on our recent accomplishments, and to take the business to the next level.”

Mr. Angkasirisan added: “I’m excited to be joining the Lenovo family. Lenovo has an exemplary reputation for customer centricity and pushing the boundaries of innovation. Combined with the immense economic opportunity in this region, I believe that our customers in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar will have much to be excited about in the months and years ahead.”

A graduate of Assumption University in Thailand, Angkasirisan holds a master’s degree in finance, and a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Mr. Ankgasirisan replaces Mr. Jeerawut Wongpimonporn, who leaves Lenovo after 10 years of service to pursue new opportunities.
