SCB 10X seeks new growth and new business models in the future world with a focus on disruptive technology, particularly the Metaverse. SCB 10X recently unveiled its idea on headquarters in Metaverse as the first banking group entity globally to develop the headquarters in The Sandbox. The idea on virtual HQ is designed to reflect the past, present, and future of Thai culture that is influential to SCB 10X development. SCB 10X HQ expects to welcome public visits within the fourth quarter of 2022.

SCB 10X Chief Venture and Investment Officer Ms. Mukaya Panich said, “We anticipate huge growth potential in the metaverse. The blockchain-based metaverse HQ in the Sandbox aims to provide a community-driven open space in Metaverse with limitless inspiration and possibilities, to grow users in Thailand and regional for future collaboration in Metaverse. The HQ features three utility zones: 1. Virtual hub: A space for events and knowledge sharing through an immersive experience, 2. Virtual land: A space for business partners to collaborate on activities and project development in the future, and 3. A hub to support and promote local artists in a global market through an NFT marketplace, NFT gallery, virtual concerts, and more.” 

The design of SCB 10X HQ in the metaverse is designed to reflect the past, present and future of Thai culture. Here, visitors will be able to traverse through three uniquely crafted environments with different functions, namely, The Past: A glorious foundation for the future, The Present: A gateway for boundless networking with partners, and The Future: Exponential growth.

 “SCB 10X is the first banking group entity globally to develop the headquarters in The Sandbox, a blockchain-based virtual world platform. We expect an official launch for public visits within the fourth quarter of 2022. Meanwhile, we are also interested in metaverse investment and plan to host a metaverse hackathon soon for enthusiasts to express their creativity and energy. We hope these activities will help foster a stronger Metaverse community and expand the ecosystem globally.” Ms. Panich added.
