GARMIN launches GARMIN Pay wallet in Thailand Matching the healthy lifestyle 4.0 with a cashless society

GARMIN partners Thailand’s leading financial institutions namely, Kasikorn Bank (KBank), Krungthai Card (KTC), Siam Commercial Bank (SCB), and global payment networks, Mastercard and VISA, to launch GARMIN Pay, a new contactless payment feature on GARMIN smartwatches. GARMIN Pay is designed to meet the needs of health-conscious people in the digital age by allowing them to exercise without having to carry a wallet.

Mr. Krairop Luang u-thai, General Manager of GIS, the authorized distributor of GARMIN products in Thailand notes that Thailand is transforming into a cashless society, meaning that the adoption of technology and innovations will be a driving force in introducing contactless payments that respond to customers’ needs. GARMIN aims to provide users with access to contactless payments from devices close to home and thus truly match their lifestyles. Today, GARMIN is partnering with three leading financial institutions – KBank, KTC and SCB – and two global payment networks – Mastercard and VISA – to develop GARMIN Pay.

GARMIN Pay is designed to respond to the lifestyles of health-conscious people who like to exercise and are looking for more convenient ways of paying for products and services. The feature offers a new cashless experience purchases can be more seamless at growing contactless-accepted locations.

“GARMIN Pay is the latest feature on the GARMIN smartwatch. With just a few quick swipes, customers can easily access provider from their compatible GARMIN watch and use GARMIN Pay participating credit cards. Select the credit card you want to connect to the watch and create the GARMIN Pay Wallet by filling in the card information on the GARMIN Connect application along with your passcode. All customers then have to do is place their wrist near a card reader that supports PayWave and PayPass to purchase goods and services at shops that accept contactless payments. GARMIN Pay uses tokenization methods offered by the global payment networks to secure users’ information. The tokenized data is saved in an isolated safety chip which is in device, so to keep sensitive data from malware or virus. Now, GARMIN Pay is available in the U.S. and 21 countries around the world.” Mr. Krairop explains.
