Malaysia Levels Up at Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show 2025

Malaysia is powering up for Gamescom Asia x Thailand Game Show 2025, happening 17–19 October at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, Bangkok.

This year, the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) is spotlighting six standout Malaysian indie studios in the Entertainment Zone (B2C), giving our creators a golden stage to showcase their imagination directly to gamers, gain value feedback, and forge stronger ties with the vibrant Southeast Asian gaming community.

Malaysia has already earned recognition in the B2B space, but this B2C push is about what truly matters: Malaysian stories, characters, and worlds created by our own talent. It’s about proving that Malaysian IP is not only export-ready, but also created to inspire, entertain, and compete on the global stage.

Why does this matter? Gamescom Asia, the Asian satellite of the world’s largest video game festival, attracts tens of thousands of visitors and garners global attention. With the 2025 edition co-located with the iconic Thailand Game Show, foot traffic and energy are expected to be at an all- time high, making it the ultimate stage for Malaysian IP to shine.

This showcase also builds on the momentum of Level Up KL 2025 (6–8 October in Kuala Lumpur), Southeast Asia’s premier game developers’ conference organised by MDEC. From championing the local industry at Level Up KL to extending visibility on the international stage at Gamescom Asia, MDEC is building a seamless ecosystem where Malaysian game IP can thrive locally, regionally, and globally.

Adding to the excitement, MDEC will feature the IP360 Metaverse Platform, developed with Ammobox Studios to highlight Malaysia’s cultural heritage and creative IPs like Ejen Ali and Didi & Friends. Featuring a Virtual Theme Park and a Digital Museum, the platform offers fun, interactive experiences that blend culture, creativity, and cutting-edge tech.
