Strengthening Thailand-Finland Collaboration: Innovation and Strategic Engagement

Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Ambassador of Thailand to Finland leads a delegation from the Thai public and private sectors on a study visit to Finland

During 19-21 November 2024, Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Chavanart Thangsumphant, Ambassador of Thailand to Finland, led a delegation from the Thai public and private sectors on a study visit to Finland to discuss and engage with various Finnish agencies as follows:

(1) The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, to enhance bilateral relations & collaboration especially in the field of bio and circular economy;

(2) Business Finland, to extend the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Innovation Agency (NIA) and Business Finland, as well as to gain insights into the Finnish startup ecosystem;

(3) Vantaa Energy Plant to study advancements in circular energy technology from one of Finland’s largest circular energy source; and

(4) VTT Technical Research Center, a leading research and development (R&D) agency in Europe, to exchange research information, particularly on VTT’s expertise using strategic foresight in developing cities and sustainable products.
