IBM appoints Patama Chantaruck as Vice President for Indochina Expansion and Managing Director of IBM Thailand

IBM today announced the appointment of Patama Chantaruck as Vice President for Indochina Expansion and Managing Director of IBM Thailand, effective immediately.

Ms. Chantaruck joins an inclusive and richly diverse leadership team in IBM Asia Pacific. She brings with her almost 30 years of experience in the IT and Telecom industries, where she has helped customers worldwide optimize their IT investments and be more successful in a new era of digital transformation. Known as a dynamic and motivational leader, Ms. Chantaruck has held various leadership positions at a global, regional and country level, most recently as GM WW Software Asset Management & Compliance at Microsoft.

Throughout her career, she has promoted and mentored female leaders: she is an active member of the Women’s Senior Leadership Program at The Kellogg School of Management, a panelist at the Global Women’s Summit in Australia and also at Janes of Digital in Seattle, WA.

As Vice President for Indochina Expansion, Ms. Chantaruck will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and business growth and expansion of IBM in Thailand and the Indochina region starting with Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia. As Managing Director for IBM Thailand, she will build on the strong collaboration with government and community, and accelerate enablement for the local business ecosystem to succeed in the digital economy by capitalizing on disruptive technology including AI, Cloud and Blockchain.

She succeeds Parnsiree Amatayakul as Managing Director of IBM Thailand. Ms. Amatayakul has been promoted to Vice President, Commercial and Digital Business Group, IBM ASEAN.
