SEA Bridge and Harbor.Space selects Thai youth for sustainable innovation competition at ACIYLS 2024 in Singapore.

Bangkok, September 2, 2024 – SEA Bridge, in collaboration with Harbour.Space University @ UTCC, organized the final round of Startathon Thailand 2024 to select 15 Thai youths for the ASEAN-China-India Youth Leadership Summit (ACIYLS) in Singapore, taking place from September 29 to October 4, 2024.

Startathon Thailand 2024 is a joint initiative between SEA Bridge and Singapore's OSG Youth Alliance, with support from the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) and Harbour.Space@UTCC.

Kaspar Sermsuksan, Founder and CEO of SEA Bridge, stated, "The Startathon Thailand 2024 program is a significant step in developing the potential of Thai youth in line with our company's goals to empower students to showcase their innovative capabilities on both regional and global stages."

Startathon Thailand 2024 was held under the theme "Sustainability in Thailand." The program attracted students from over 26 universities nationwide, with 25 teams applying and only 11 teams making it to the final round.

Today, the Hackathon event selected three winning teams, comprising a total of 15 individuals who will have the special opportunity to compete in Singapore. The winning teams are as follows:

  • First Prize: Team Peel Life, which developed packaging from food waste, including members from Chulalongkorn University, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, and Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, supported by the Faculty of Architecture, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang.
  • Second Prize: Team UP Consulting, which developed a platform for aggregating orders for farmers, from Chulalongkorn University.
  • Third Prize: Team Mutatio, a social enterprise focusing on banana-based products, with members from Assumption University, Mahidol University, and Thammasat University.

Dr. Pantitra Patamanan, Director of Harbour.Space@UTCC, said, "We are delighted to support the pitching competition alongside SEA Bridge in promoting creative youth in designing sustainable products and services. All participating students have demonstrated exceptional potential, impressing the judges greatly."

The 15 winners will receive:

  • Airfare and accommodation to participate in the competition in Singapore. The top three winning teams will represent Thailand at the ASEAN-China-India Youth Leadership Summit (ACIYLS) in Singapore, a regional forum that brings together over 5,000 youths from across Southeast Asia, China, and India.
  • A signed copy of the book "The Startup Mindset."
  • The first prize team will receive a three-week course at Harbour.Space University, valued at 50,000 THB.

In addition, the 11 finalist teams will have the opportunity to join SEA Bridge's Regional Entrepreneurial Management Trainee (RE.MT) program, which helps prepare Thai youths to gain experience in expanding markets and operating businesses regionally and internationally.
