TribeHired raises another round to rapidly expand its localised freelance marketplace in SEA

In 2015, TribeHired moved from social recruitment to a talent marketplace model with a vision to vigorously accelerate the speed of getting hired. They wanted to build a scalable solution to assist job-seekers get employment in great companies, in the fastest way possible. On the other hand, employers found the solution compelling as they were disrupting expensive recruiters with a more efficient and quality service, at a lesser cost. Employers could simply browse and make offers to top skilled talent that they curated based on various filtering tests. TribeHired made hirings possible within one week!

As a result, they became profitable in 2016 in Malaysia; which allowed them to experiment and expand without any further funding to new places like Bangkok, Jakarta and Singapore. Since 2017, they have successfully stabilized our operations across SEA and have become net profitable in each city they operate in.

In 2018, they wanted to continue innovating and expanding our reach to more talents and employers. The result was the successful launch of a well-crafted localised freelancer marketplace to fit the local markets. They curate top 15% of tech developers who are opened to freelancing projects and connect them to employers in a similar way they were connecting talents before. The vision is to make the digital-nomad dream come true for tech freelancers across SEA to be able to work remotely with some of the best tech employers in the region. What employers love about the model is the proximity to top talents available locally and the ‘TribeHired quality service’ that comes along. The freelancer marketplace, now contributes to 25% of our revenues within 6 months of launch with a scalable and process driven business model.

The new funding (SGD600K or MYR 1.8 Mil) raised with AngelCentral is aimed at allowing TribeHired to capture a bigger market-pie, as the stakeholders believe there is a massive room for growth in the cities they are operating in. Furthermore, they were excited to bring on-board, the ex-founders of jobs central as investors. Their collective experience, business acumen and support in the recruitment space is extremely valuable to rapidly expand the business across Asia.

"As a founder of JobsCentral and having matched thousands of employers and job-seekers, I find that Tribehired has a fresh and scalable approach to headhunting and placements. I am happy to be leading AngelCentral angels to be a part of the Tribehired journey via this investment.", says Dershing of AngelCentral.

"TribeHired is on its path to becoming a one-stop solutions for a job-seeker be it a full-time, contract/freelance employment. We have expanded our core priorities to include talents from non-tech fields like marketing, sales, finance etc. As we build a scalable business model we hope to launch the marketplace to all kinds of industries in new and current markets we operate in."
