Climate Impact Innovations Challenge 2025 announced nine finalists, leading the way to accelerate sustainability in Indonesia and beyond

East Ventures, a pioneering and leading sector-agnostic venture capital firm that has supported over 300 tech companies across Southeast Asia, and Temasek Foundation, a Singapore-based non-profit philanthropic organization that supports sustainable development initiatives, announced the finalists of the Climate Impact Innovations Challenge (CIIC) 2025, Indonesia's largest climate innovation tech competition.

Continuing last year's momentum, the challenge again focuses on three distinct tracks: Energy Transition, Sustainable Agriculture, and Circular Economy.

After the close of submissions on 25 June 2025, CIIC 2025 received overwhelming interest from innovators, totaling nearly 500 changemakers from more than 50 countries worldwide.

"Congratulations to the finalists of the Climate Impact Innovations Challenge 2025. We are delighted by the enthusiasm from innovators worldwide and excited by the surge of pioneering solutions leveraging advanced technologies like Al emerging this year. Sustainability has always been part of East Ventures' DNA, and our commitment to it remains unwavering. This challenge reflects our dedication to creating a meaningful, lasting impact on society and the environment, particularly in finding key solutions to address Indonesia's climate challenges. We look forward to seeing these solutions thrive and scale throughout Indonesia and beyond," said Avina Sugiarto, Partner at East Ventures.

The finalists of the Climate Impact Innovations Challenge 2025 are:

Energy Transition track:

  • Aslan Renewables: Modular hydropower without dams or large reservoirs, generating low-cost electricity with up to 86% efficiency.

  • Incy Tech: Building modular floating renewable energy devices that generate 3x more energy than traditional solar panels at one-third the cost.

  • Rekosistem: Transforming mixed waste into renewable energy that is a competitive alternative to fossil fuels, while cutting residential waste volumes by up to 85%.

Sustainable Agriculture track:

  • Arukah Capital: Generating clean energy and bioproducts from agriculture waste, while committing 50% of carbon revenue to smallholder farmers.

  • Gokomodo: Tripling corn harvests of smallholder farmers, while cutting farm emissions by up to 40%, through climate-smart agronomy and digital monitoring.

  • Moosa Genetics: Advanced reproductive technology for cattle that doubles milk production of livestock farming, with reduced methane emissions.

Circular Economy track:

  • Maritime Nusantara Lestari Foundation: Converting aquaculture waste into higher value protein, chitin and minerals, while increasing incomes for coastal communities.

  • Midwest Composites: Turning natural fiber and farm waste into natural fiber composites that cut CO2 emissions by 75% and are 5x cheaper than other alternatives.

  • SXD AI: Co-designs and scales zero material waste garments, delivering 10x material savings, 80% reduction in CO2 emissions, and up to 55% cost savings.

Road to the Grand Finale

Over the next few months, finalists will be guided by ecosystem leaders who will provide mentorship on forging strategic partnerships, developing go-to-market and commercialisation plans, and sharpening their public speaking skills.

The finalists will then compete for a total prize pool of Rp10 billion along with exclusive perks aimed at accelerating the growth of their business within Indonesia. Their final pitch will take place at the Climate Impact Innovations Challenge 2025 Grand Finale on 10-11 October 2025, hosted at Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (IISF) 2025 in Jakarta. Registration to the forum is now open; it can be accessed at indonesiasustainabilityforum.co.id.
