HUBBA Thailand collaborated with Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation, a Malaysia-based digital agency under the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia, to host a group of regional startups from Malaysia. This program hosted by HUBBA is called Expand Thailand, which aims to support the Malaysian startups in initiating market entries and provide market access opportunities. This year has seen six innovative startups stepping foot into Bangkok with a clear vision of expansion plans.
The six regional startups from Malaysia are as follows:
Throughout the days in Bangkok, these Malaysian startups have met up with a wide range of companies from the government agencies, small-medium enterprises to local startups. These meetings have allowed them to gain insightful information and knowledge about the Thailand market from expertise of different fields. In addition, expanding their network and forming potential partnerships with the Thai companies.
On their final day in Bangkok, there was also a Networking Night event specially for the startups over at HUBBA’s newest co-working space, HUBBA-Sathorn. The keynote speaker of the night was Hataipat (Pearl) Wisuthseriwong, VP Regional Business Development Country Manager Thailand of ServisHero, an application that connects customers and service providers. This Malaysia originated startup is an exemplary of Malaysian startups expansion opportunities into the Thailand market. The speaker shared different experiences of the opportunities and challenges faced by ServisHero within the Thailand market.
