The auction of a unique 1/1 piece by Youngohm x NFT1 will begin on Rarible on the 6th of May at 6:19 AM with a 10,000 THB (≈320 USD) starting price and will last till the 13th of May 9:16 PM. This first collaboration will be followed by a series of drops by top artists across the Southeast Asian region — where both crypto & music fans communities are growing stronger than ever.

Acclaimed Thailand-based rapper, Youngohm, who has over 7 million followers across platforms has teamed up with a Singapore-based producer NFT1 to create a first major drop in Southeast Asia. The NFT is an MP4 video file featuring a custom graphic art of Youngohm with bitcoins in his eyes and a special audio recording of his most well-known tagline.

Announced previously in the rapper's social media, the news immediately became viral within the region with over 15k likes in 3 days and got featured across various crypto communities in the region. Youngohm is a super star celebrity in Thailand with his compositions frequently breaking the records: his track “Thararat” got 25 million views on Tencent owned music streaming platform JOOX and 25 million views on YouTube during the first week after its release (225+ million views to date). Another track called “Cheoy Meoy” got 115 million views on JOOX and was a number one on a JOOX chart and 170 million views on YouTube.

“I’m very excited about the upcoming drop”,— says Youngohm. — “I’m new to crypto but I liked the concept of NFTs. We have prepared something very special and I wanted this piece to be iconic and unique, created for a sole owner. I am supporting the NFT1 team in their mission of exploring an innovative NFT market and happy to produce our first ever NFT together.”

This collaboration is first in line and will be followed by other music celebrities and international artists co-created by NFT1 — an innovative production house which aims to launch a viral high quality NFT art. “I’ve been working with talented artists and producing music for decades now, and as soon as I discovered NFTs, I immediately realised the potential of this technology for the art and music industries” — says hip-hop producer and NFT1 Creative Director, NINO. — “In Southeast Asia, we have a very strong market and musicians are always looking for new ways to interact with their fans. I am looking forward to seeing where this experiment is going to bring us!”

NINO, whose full name is Krerg Chankwang, is the CEO of HYPE TRAIN — record label which he founded in 2020. He is a five-time winner of PRODUCER OF THE YEAR award organized by Rap Is Now — the biggest party organizer, rap battle TV show and community, which unifies underground musicians in Thailand. During that time, NINO  played a major role in forming the new wave of popular music in the region representing 9 artists in his record label, many of which are contestants of a popular reality TV show, “Show Me the Money Thailand Season 2”, where NINO was the esteemed show’s Music Director. Since 2019, the songs produced by NINO have amassed over 1 billion views in total — which makes him one of the biggest hip-hop producers in Thailand.

While it is a well-known fact that Asian markets are traditionally very strong with massively popular influencers, actors, musicians and artists, crypto adoption varies across different SEA countries. Thailand's digital assets industry has seen a significant growth in the last few months with trading volumes and new wallets seeing a three digit growth rate since the end of 2020. However, no big NFT drop took place in Thailand. NFT1 aims to unlock the NFT market in Southeast Asia with the upcoming exclusive drop created together with the incredibly popular musician Youngohm.

“We are honored to kickstart NFT1 collaborating with such a distinguished music artist like Youngohm”, — NFT1 CEO Stephane Panyasiri adds. — “Global NFT market is a unique multicultural art scene, which enables international collaborations. While the audience around the world is not fully aware of the popular Thai music scene which thrives here in Bangkok, we see this line of our business as a great opportunity to draw attention to it and promote these amazing artists on a global scale. Taking into account how vibrant the market is in SEA we are sure that upcoming drops will be interesting for collectors worldwide ”.
