Priceza hosts “Priceza E-Commerce Trends : The Infinity of E-Commerce Wars 2019” and reveals four e-commerce trends in 2019. It aims to enhance knowledge for e-stores and marketplaces and support every sector to grow together. It also plans to launch new business with partner next year.
Mr. Thanawat Malabuppha, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Priceza Company Limited, an operator of the country’s leading shopping search engine platform “Priceza”, said the ‘Priceza E-Commerce Trends’ event is hosted for the first time because it would like to enhance the knowledge for every level of shops and marketplaces and help them grow together. This event will be a medium that drives an e-commerce ecosystem in all aspects. The concept of the event is ‘The Infinity of E-Commerce Wars 2019’, which is meant to help all related parties to get ready for the infinite competition in 2019.
“The number of product items on our platform has increased from 28 million product items to 51 million product items this year. If you spend 5 seconds seeing each items on our platform, you need 8 years to see all of them. We also have a ton of partnership network from shops, marketplaces, product brands and e-payment channels. With all these information we have, we would like to share and help everyone grow together by using these information and knowledge to plan their business next year,” said Mr.Thanawat.
Mr.Thanawat cited that the overall picture of e-commerce business in 2018 showed an interesting growth because some new marketplace players from overseas have launch their operation officially as well as more cross-border products have flown into Thailand. At the same time, those situations have caused a fiercer competition in e-commerce business this year.
For the e-commerce business in 2019, it believes there will be various positive factors such as the growth of FinTech and e-payment channels, promotion of players in the market, and consumers’ behaviour that shifts to do more online shopping.
“Revenue from priceza money has significantly increased around 3 times from last year. In 2019, the business unit will cover more financial institutes and financial products such as travel insurance. We expect that the revenue from this business will grow twice next year,” said Mr.Thanawat.
Mr.Thanawat added Priceza’s insights during Jan 1-Nov 12 this year found the average basket size on e-commerce is around 1,469 baht per basket. The most popular product categories are clothes and fashion, mobilephones, electric appliances, and cars and vehicles, respectively.
Speakers include those from e-commerce giants such as Siwagorn Siriwongpanupong (Head of Business Developement at Shopee Thailand), Boom Moosirilert (Marketing Director at JD Central), Nitimon Suthavivat (Senior Manager, Online Business department at Thai Samsung Electronics Co Ltd), Supaneewan Chutrakul (First Senior Vice President, Retail Business Division at Kasikorn Bank), Supachet Phaovanit (Vice President, Seller Operations at Lazada Thailand). More than 200 participants join the event on Nov 28, 2018 at Hard Rock Café at Siam Square Soi 11.
Priceza was established in 2010 by Thanawat and three of his university friends from Engineering Faculty, Chulalongkorn University. For they visioned the future of e-commerce business, they decided to develop the search engine and price and information comparison tools for those who want to shop online. Currently, it operates through www.priceza.com and application in six countries including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and Philippines. It has many functions to provide a wide range of services including a price comparison of the same products from different shops and marketplaces, a comparison of payment channels and the information access of guaranteed shops.
